1. Brian enjoys empowering people with creative, purposeful, and relevant uses of technology and storytelling. He works with K12, Higher Ed, ESAs, Non-Profits, and Businesses.

PS: If you want my bio in doc form, I have a short and long version.

PS #2: You can contact Brian here!

2. Brian thinks professional learning should be an experience, involving as many people as possible. Everyone needs a win, everyday. He’s worked at an ESA, Education Service Agency for over 12 years in Northeast Georgia. He loves sharing with other ESAs, too!

3. EdTech K12 Magazine labeled Brian as “30 K12 IT Influencers to Follow in 2021“.

*He used his influence, by trying Taco Bell’s Taco Lovers Pass and relaying his tasty research.

4. Brian knows failure is part of learning. Vulnerability is a super power that creates classroom freedom to take chances for the sake of advancement. Brian likes to fail as much as possible. *Like when his NFT dreams died in early 2022 and he couldn’t retire from selling his Buff GIFs.

5. Brian got started in K12 EDU as a middle school science teacher in South Georgia. During this time, while delivering some techy PD to his peers, a teacher once said, “this isn’t that bad.” Brian interpreted the high praise as a sign that everyone enjoyed his work and he should further his education. Since then Brian has worked with hundreds of schools, thousands of teachers, students, and admins, around the world to spread his Buff Magic. He’s basically Johnny Appleseed in more festive clothing.

6. Music: Brian’s been playing his #HappyMusicForTheMasses since the age of fourteen. He’s written mega hits that you’ve never heard of. Chart toppers like 8th Grade Mustache, Cheese, Parents Just Don’t Understand Minecraft, Stretchy Pants and more! *Only until later in his work with educators did he realize people enjoyed his use of music intertwined in keynotes and workshops

7. Creativity over Consumption: Brian knows the power of student-centered creativity. With the near instantaneous availability of information at our fingertips, it’s not what you know, it’s what you do with what you know. This idea is the basis of his “I Teach Things That Can’t Be Googled” mantra and swag.

8. ‘Ohana’ means ‘family.’ ‘Family’ means ‘no one gets left behind.’ – Lilo & Stitch.

As a husband and father Brian does his best to make the most of everyday with the people he loves most. He wants the same for you, too. *Brian is all about sharing strategies, hacks, tips on efficiency, as well as how to make learning more student-centered. The goal is to leave educators with a little more in the tank at the end of the day.

9. Brian is always looking for his next adventure, big or small. It could be trying the food at that semi-sketchy place in town, taking his daughter to a dance, or making prescription glasses for his Kuna friends in Panama. *In 2016, the Buffs LOADED a Honda Civic, and tent camped across the USA for 3 weeks.

10. As a tribute to his late grandaddy, Brian wanted to include him in this list. If you see Brian and he’s enjoying life, taking chances, and helping others, it’s because he learned it from Charles Williams.

*Brian’s current lack of hair could be a result of this bleach style gone wrong.
